  • Wipe with a damp cloth or cotton pad using mild soap with warm water.
  • Allow to dry thoroughly before reuse.
  • Do not soak or saturate the fabric or interior with water or other cleaning liquids and avoid using chemical liquid.

Why do I need a good bed frame/ bed base?

  • Your bed base needs to support your weight, (the weight of your partner) and the mattress night after night. If you use a poor quality mattress foundation, you may experience common problems such as sagging as a result of inadequate support from the bed base.

How to choose a good bed base?

  • Choose support over design.
  • Pick one with even pressure distribution. Platform base such as a divan or plywood base with a solid surface thickness of 9mm is recommended to prevent cracks that may cause sagging.
  • Having enough legs and castors that are securely tightened at all times. For king or queen size, it is recommended to have at least 6 support legs (or 4 legs and 2 castors). Single sets are recommended to have 4 support legs (or 2 legs and 2 castors).
  • A supportive fishbone structure or slatted base. Slats should not have a gap more than 30mm apart. King or queen size should have a center support bar with support legs.
  • Recommended to avoid choosing metal frames. Recent studies have shown that metal can act as an antenna, amplifying electromagnetic radiation. To minimise exposure, choose a non-metal base.

How to take care of the mattress?

  • It is recommended to turn and rotate your mattress 180 degrees every 90 days to help even out body impressions.
  • Only move your mattress when lifted from underneath, if needed, with adequate help from several people. Do not lift the mattress by its straps.
  • Keep your bedroom well ventilated as warm temperature and high humidity may fuel the growth of harmful bacteria, pest insects and mold.

How to take care of the Getha divan?

  • Regularly vacuum the divan thoroughly, recommended done monthly.
  • Check that all legs and castors are securely tightened, recommended to check monthly.
  • Regularly vacuum under the divan, recommended weekly.

What to avoid?

  • 100% Natural Latex is sensitive to direct sunlight and heat. You are advised not to expose your 100% Natural Latex to harsh conditions that may jeopardise the quality of the product such as placing your mattress next to a window without curtains, exposing it to direct sunlight.
  • Avoid jumping on your bed or sitting on the sides and edges of the mattress as this may affect the structural component.

How to prevent unwanted pests (fleas, mites, lice, worms, bugs and others)?

  • Check used items before purchasing and bringing it back to your home. Even harmless products like electronics or antiques can have perfect hiding spaces for insects.
  • While travelling, use luggage racks to hold your luggage when packing or unpacking and check the bed for signs of bug infestation before settling in. Upon returning home, unpack directly into a washing machine and inspect your luggage carefully.
  • Cinemas, store dressing rooms, restaurants and venues with cushioned seats or carpeted floors may also harbor unwelcome pests. Avoid sitting or lying on your bed upon returning home from these public venues or placing your handbags, backpacks or luggage onto your furniture.
  • Regularly vacuum your bedroom.and furniture such as the mattress, bedframe, carpeting or sofa to remove surface dust to create a less conducive environment for pests to inhabit.
  • Wash all sheets, blankets, pillowcases and bed covers in hot water that is at least 55 degree Celsius weekly. If bedding can’t be washed hot, put the items in the dryer for at least 15 minutes at a temperature above 55 Celsius.
  • Certain pests thrive in humid conditions. If your home or room is at relative humidity at or above 70%, this encourages pests to eat, reproduce, and develop at alarming rates. With the aid of a dehumidifier or air conditioner, bring the relative humidity down to 50% or lower, this will create an environment unfriendly to moths, hordes of other insect pests, and sweat stains.
  • Check your pet for fleas, ticks, bed bugs and other insects. Make sure to monitor the area where your pet sleeps, and inspect the bed and areas around the bed including toys. If possible, regularly wash the pet bed and toys on the highest heat and dryer settings.

What to do if I have a pest problem?

  • Take immediate action and contact a pest control professional to safely, effectively and more importantly, to eliminate the infestation. Home remedies may not be effective and may not fully remove the infestation. Any delay with pest treatment may cause the infestation to grow and worsen.

Though we can’t see it happening, every minute of the day we shed about 30,000 to 40,000 dead skin cells, that’s almost 4 kgs of cells every year! When your skin cells leave your body, it is known as dust. Even if you diligently vacuum your mattress, you may be able to get rid of the majority of the dust, but because skin flakes are thin and nearly transparent, it may accumulate in your mattress over the years.

In 10 years, a person’s body structure, lifestyle and needs may differ from a decade ago. We are here to assist you to find a new mattress that supports your current needs.
